- 1 cup cacao powder
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons maca powder
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- Hot water
- Mint leaves (optional)
- Place the first 5 ingredients into a medium sized bowl.
- Whisk until the mixture is smooth and creamy. It can take up to 5 minutes for all the lumps to smooth out. This is your hot chocolate mix.
- To serve place 2 tablespoons of the mixture into your favorite mug. Pour in 1.5 cups hot water and mix well with a spoon. Garnish with a mint leaf if you have. This brings a nice aroma to the hot chocolate when you sip it. You may adjust your ratio of cocoa mix to water depending on your desired sweetness.
- To store, pour the extra cocoa mix into an airtight container and place in the fridge.

I really enjoy adding different ingredients to my cup of cocoa every now and then. In the mornings I have added an espresso shot, for a spicy kick I’ve tried a dash of cayenne, and for energy I’ll mix in
this mushroom powder. If you discover another delicious add-on, please let us know in the comments below!
